A project to repair fairways at Broadland Creek National Golf Course was approved by the Huron City Commission Monday night. The City budgeted 50-thousand dollars for the project, however bids came in above that. Commissioner Byran Smith says a Minnesota company could do the project yet this year for around 77-thousand dollars….
The Capital Asset Committee gave it’s blessing to taking that roughly 14-thousand dollar shortfall from Second Penny funds to complete the project. Commissioner Doug Kludt had questions about another under budgeted project…

Chemical imbalances in the top soil under the fairways on holes 11 and 13 are why the fairways need to be repaired. The Huron City Commission unanimously approved recommendation to use the Second Penny funds to finish the project.
