The Huron City Commission gave Mayor Paul Aylward permission to slap his signature on two grant applications from the South Dakota Broadband Initiative Monday night…
Finance Officer Paullyn Carey says the City of Huron must provide a 20-percent match for the grant, which was already in the budget. Carey believed the Finance Office computers would cost around eight-thousand dollars. The cost of the police department computers was not immediately available. Meanwhile the Commission approved a hiring recommendation for the solid waste department, approved election workers for the April eight City Commission election, approved an abatement request of property taxes and approved bids relating to the city’s annual purchase of water, sewer and irrigation materials.
