There will be no shortage of projects taking place on, around and in some cases, under the streets of Huron in 2014. Key Contracting was awarded the bid to renovate 78 manhole covers for $135,902 dollars. The Commission approved January 27th as the date to open bids for three projects, street milling and overlay, curb and gutter replacement and handicap ramp installation and water main replacement. However before streets can be overlayed, any intersections that do not have updated A-D-A sidewalk ramps must be upgraded. The bid for A-D-A ramp installation calls for 34 intersections to be updated. A majority of the projects on the City of Huron’s agenda for 2014 are south of 3rd street and east of Dakota Avenue.
