Cold Weather Brings West Nile Season to a Close

South Dakota State Epidemiologist Dr Lon Kightlinger says there is good news with the chill headed our way this weekend, the end of west nile for another year.

Kightlnger says there will be infections every year, but the numbers are going down.

Kightlinger says despite the decreasing numbers, west nile can still be deadly.

Kightlinger says the next public health threat is influenza, which has been only scattered so far.
