Classes for Huron High School students will end at 12:30 Friday afternoon, as the school comes to grips with the loss of two of their own. 16 year-olds Manny Martinez and Marisol Corona were killed Sunday afternoon in a roll-over crash near Alpena. The suspension of classes for grades nine through twelve is to allow students and staff to mourn the passing and honor the memory of Martinez and Corona. Classes for kindergarten through eight grade will continue as normal on Friday. Some school staffers will remain at the Huron High School to provide supervision for students who need to ride buses at normal times at the end of the day. The Huron School District intends to hold a moment of silence to honor Corona and Martinez at the beginning of the Board of Education meeting Monday night.
