City To Remove Green Debris From Prairie Villa

Olsen told the Commission, tenants in the park feel like since they pay taxes and pay for other city services, the City should remove the tree left overs. Street Superintendent Phil McCaskell says he was told the reason the City does NOT remove from trailer parks is because that’s what lot rents are for. Commissioner Jan Manolis encouraged McCaskell to consider an exception since the trees were placed on curbs by residents. McCaskell suggested residents move the debris to Lincoln Avenue, a city street. City Planner Ralph Borkowski thought it would be impractical to do so….

Commissioner Mark Robish wanted to make sure the pick-up was not done on overtime for Street Department crews, who are currently working four ten hour days to get trees across town cleaned up. McCaskell figures the debris across the city should be removed by the end of the week.
