The governor’s petition comes on the heels of an announcement by Canadian Pacific that could sell the South Dakota portion of the D.M. & E. by the end of the year. Daugaard has asked the STB to look into whether CP has lived up to its promises as it seeks a buyer for the former DM&E line west of Tracy, Minn.
