Wever says the city plans to use the STIP money for the installation of ADA sidewalk ramps at intersections not already outfitted with them. Huron intends to install another 32 such ramps in 2015. That will bring 58-percent of the sidewalk ramps into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The city has already budgeted for the 185,000 dollars need to match the STIP funds. The city should be done with the majority of ADA ramp retrofits by 2018.
