Earlier this week, Huron City commissioners heard an update from Retail Strategies, a national firm the Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau has partnered with to attract new retail business to Huron and support existing retailers.
Beth Miller, portfolio manager with Retail Strategies, says they follow national trends to identify business categories that are growing.
Miller says the process of bringing a new business to town takes time.
While a smaller population is an issue for some businesses, Miller says Retail Strategies puts the focus on the size of Huron’s trade area.
This is the second year of the Chamber’s three year contract with Retail Strategies.
