Last night. the city commission heard an update on the new public works building.
Assistant city engineer Dennis Bennett, says the project is expected to be completed by mid-October, about a month later than originally projected.
Bennett says the building will give city departments the additional space they need.
He says being able to house the various departments under one roof is another advantage of the new building.
The building also includes a dedicated wash bay.
Bennett says work is 85-90% complete. An open house is planned to allow the public to tour the new building.
