The City of Huron will not remove a small piece of driveway that a long time Huron couple believes is on their land. Carroll and Arlene Tschetter came to the Huron City Commission requesting the city remove a small concrete portion of driveway, they say was placed on their property, when curb and gutter was placed on Nicollet Avenue. Streets Commissioner Doug Kludt says after he reviewed the scenario, the city should not bear the cost of removing the concrete….

Attorney Beverly Katz represented the Tschetter’s in the matter and says it should clearly fall on the city to make things right…
Arlene Tschetter said they wanted the issue corrected before they sold the home, so it wasn’t an issue for family if they passed away before the home was sold. A motion by Kludt to deny the request for the city to pay to remove the concrete died for lack of a second. A subsequent motion by Commissioner Bryan Smith to allow the Tschetter’s to remove the slab was unanimously approved.
