City Commission To Meet Twice Today

City CommissionThe Huron City Commission will be meeting twice today. The first meeting is scheduled for 2:30 P-M to review requests for proposals for management of food and beverage service at the Huron Event Center. Commissioners will meet in executive session after reviewing the proposals. The regular meeting will begin as usual at 5:30 P-M at the Huron Municipal Building where the Commission will consider approval of an agreement with the selected purveyor. Commissioners will also consider a payment request for demolition of the old water treatment plant and considering a bid for a semi tractor. A public hearing will be held for 2016 Retail On-Sale Convention Hall Liquor license filed by the city for the Huron Event Center. The Commission will consider a plat filed by the Huron School District for Block One in the Jefferson School Addition and a resolution regarding the bridge reinspection program with the State of South Dakota. A second resolution of for consideration by the Commission would authorize the mayor to sign an agreement for food and beverage service at the Huron Event Center, depending on the results of earlier action at the meeting. The governing board will consider updated policies for tobacco and drug and alcohol use by city employees and will authorize the mayor to sign a workplace wellness grant with Black Hills Special Services Cooperative for the city’s Workplace Wellness program. There are no scheduled work session, but the Huron City Commission is scheduled to again meet in executive session for a contractual matter. Both meetings of the Huron City Commission are open to the public.
