The Huron City Commission will hold it’s first meeting of December on the first day of the month tonight. A lighter agenda will see a public hearing for 2015 liquor and wine license approvals among other items. Commissioners will consider approval to authorize the mayor to sign documents related to the Greater Huron Development Corporation’s application to the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources or assessment assistance for the detection of asbestos in the old Huron Water Treatment plant.. The Commission will also consider the 2015 Join Cooperative agreement with the Northeast Council of Governments or NECOG. The city’s governing body will also consider an agreement with SpyGlass Group LLC to perform an audit of the city’s telecommunications accounts to see if the city is paying for telecommunications services it is not using or accounts that are being paid for but not used such as Internet, cell phones, data, long distance and more. The first reading of a newly revamped campaign signage ordinance will be held along with a work session regarding the city’s tuition assistance reimbursement policy.
