The Huron City Commission is holding a RARE Wednesday night meeting tonight. Monday’s regularly scheduled meeting was scrapped because a copy of the meetings agenda was not posted for at least twenty-four hours at the Huron Municipal Building as required by state law. One item has been added to the agenda. Commissioners will get an update on flooding on the James River after a Flood Watch was issued by the National Weather Service for the James at Huron. Tonights meeting could see plenty of public input. A Facebook page titled Help Support Doug Schmitt encouraged Huron residents to support the embattled police chief at Monday nights meeting. According to the page as of 7 AM this morning 44 people said they would attend tonight’s City Commission meeting. Approximately 12 to 15 showed up Monday night hoping to talk with the Mayor and Commissioners.
