City Commission To Hold Speical Meeting In Executive Session

The Huron City Commission took Monday off from regular business but is meeting tonight in a special session. The Commission’s agenda has a single executive session item on it. That item is listed as “Personnel” under South Dakota Codified Law One dash 25 dash two, part one. That state law states quote “Discussing the qualifications, competence, performance, character or fitness of any public officer or employee or prospective public officer or employee. The term “employee” does not include any independent contractor”. While the discussion involving the personnel matter at hand will likely be closed to the public under the rules of executive session, any decision that may be rendered as a result of the discussion in executive session must be made in an open meeting setting.
