City Commission To Consider Rates For Splash Central. More Tonight

The Huron City Commission is set to hold it’s weekly meeting tonight. The Commission will use time during public forum for a Civilian Service Award presentation, before considering a payment request for sewer main lining work. Commissioners will again consider a joint funding agreement with the U-S Geological Survey for the operation and maintenance of the streamflow gaging station on the James River. They will also consider a memorandum of Understanding between the city and the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 3A. The Commission will consider a recommendation to appoint Sergeant Dan Schlader as Acting Captain in the Police Department. Commissioners will consider authorizing Fire Chief John Coughlin to apply for a Homeland Security Grant to purchase two Toughbooks computers for the Fire Department. The Commission will consider a recommendation to hire a part-time skating rink attendant and . accepting the resignation of Brenda Houge from the Golf Course Commission. The Commission will recommend Lisa Boomsma replace Houge for the remainder of Houges term. Commissioners will also consider setting Daily Admission and Season Pass rates to the Splash Central Water Park and will give an update on some changes for hours for the Solid Waste Department. Negotiations are set for consideration in executive session. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM and that meeting is open to the public.
