City Commission To Consider New Police Vehicles And More Tonight

The Huron City Commission is meeting tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. Commissioners will consider accepting a bid for building a walking trail on top of the swimming pool dike and awarding a bid for street milling and overlay work. The Commission will also consider the purchase of two vehicles for the Police Department using state bid contract pricing. Commissioners will hear the semi-annual update from the Huron Senior Center that was deferred from last week because of weather. The first reading of two ordinances are tonight. One adopts new building codes approved last week, the second deals with planting in boulevards and parking strips The Commission will consider hiring a dispatcher and camera operators, and will consider recommendations from the appraisal committee on the value of surplus DAF equipment. There are two items for consideration in executive session. The Huron City Commission meets at 5:30 PM and the meeting is open to the public.
