City Commission Quick Hits For September 13th

The Huron City Commission met at the Huron Municipal Building last night. Commissioners approved a variance request for Kevin and Rhonda DeJean to construct an addition to their home. Commissioners also agreed to let the Huron Harvest Fest Parade start at 10 AM instead of Noon. Commissioners also agreed to give four gates to the South Dakota State Fair for the Fair to used to finish fencing around Gate 13 on the grounds. The Commission approved a plat filed by the Dakota Minnesota and Eastern Railroad for a railroad siding project designed to hold up to 90 rail cars. The City County Surplus auction last Friday raised 19,859 dollars. 7700 dollars was raised on abandoned vehicles. The City’s overall take in the auction was 18810 dollars with Beadle County getting the rest. The Commission also approved a human resource item before going into executive session for a personnel matter.
