The Huron City Commission needed 25 minutes to run through the agenda of Monday nights City Commission meeting. Commissioners approved an agreement with Lankota Incorporated for marketing corrugated cardboard. A resolution was passed setting the fee for delinquent payments to the finance office at 10 dollars or one-percent of the total cost or which ever is larger. The fee hasn’t been changed in a number of decades according to Mayor Dave McGirr. Lincoln Auto was the only towing company to submit a proposal for towing services for the City of Huron. Vehicles towed for parking violations or other reasons will be kept at Lincoln Auto instead of the old police impound lot near the city rubble site. The city will hold vehicles only if they need to be secured for criminal investigations. If your vehicle is towed, you will need to go to police dispatch to pay any fines, obtain a release card then go to Lincoln Auto to pay towing fees, before you can retrieve your car or truck. Before the Commission went into executive session for union negotiations and held a work session on next years Capital Assets plan, The Commission named a three person committee to appraise the value of a 6000 gallon sludge tank and air pump that the City declared surplus.
