City Commission Meets Tonight

City CommissionThe Huron City Commission has another light agenda for tonight’s weekly meeting. Commissioners will hold a public hearing for a special event alcoholic beverage license filed by the Huron Chamber for a Chamber Mixer event on April 14th. The group will also consider a resolution that would authorize City Attorney Jeff Banks to execute purchase agreements for lots sold in the Southtown Addition. The Commission will also consider approval of the annual equipment lease with Rick Button for golf course maintenance equipment and authorize Mayor Paul Aylward to sign a grant agreement with Black Hills Special Services for the city’s wellness program. Commissioners will also consider giving the Mayor authorization to sign a work quote from the PRO-TEC company for repair work on the lab building at the Wastewater Treatment plant and authorizing Alyward to sign a grant application from the Huron Community Foundation and set the City’s portion of funding for the Kansas Mall project. There are no scheduled work sessions, but the Huron City Commission will meet in executive session for a personnel matter. The Commission will recess to reconvene at seven P-M to meet as the Board of Equalization, to consider property assessment appeals. The Huron City Commission will begin their meeting tonight at 5:30 PM. The meeting is open to the community. The Commission is also holding a special meeting Wednesday. That meeting is scheduled for one P-M at the Kerr Room of the Campus Center. The meeting is being called so all of the City Commissioners can legally meet should they desire to observe the auction of property in the Southtown Additon.
