There will be no five minute meeting this week for the Huron City Commission. The robust agenda begins with the Commission meeting as the Board of Adjustments to consider three variance requests. One variance is regarding the construction of a fence, the second the proposed construction of an attached garage and the third is in regards to an additional sign at a residence that houses a home occupation. When the City Commission reconvenes, Commissioners will consider a change order regarding a street milling and overlay project and will consider approving a recommendation for professional engineering services regarding improvements to the wastewater treatment facility. The Commission will also consider two special event on-sale alcoholic beverage licenses filed for events on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds. Commissioners will also consider two plats. The first reading of an ordinance will be held regarding zoning and home occupation permits. Four of the six departmental items come from the Human Resource department. The remaining two are announcements regarding the Memorial Day holiday. There is no scheduled executive session, however a work session regarding the governing body rules of order will be held. The Huron City Commission will meet tonight at 5:30 PM at the Huron Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public.
