The Huron City Commission meets tonight for it’s regular weekly meeting. The Commission will hold a public hearing on a special event alcohol license filed by the Huron Area Community Theater and hear a semi-annual update from the South Dakota State Fair. Commissioners will consider a request by the South Dakota National Guard to use the old west landfill for training in April and items related to a milling and overlay project on 21st street for later this year. The Commission will also consider a memorandum of understanding with Northern State University for academic programs at Huron Community Campus. Second reading will be held of an ordinance regarding sewer rental fees and charges and a resolution regarding the bridge re-inspection program. The Commission will consider a hiring recommendation and two voluntary resignations, before making announcements regarding the upcoming President’s Day holiday. There are no scheduled executive or work sessions for the Huron City Commission who meet tonight at 5:30 P-M at the Huron Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public.
