Another short agenda greets the Huron City Commission for it’s regular weekly meeting tonight. Commissioners will consider three bid items including payment requests for manhole restoration and the north industrial park water tower and a change order on a street milling, overlay and paving project. The Commission will hold a public hearing on a special event on-sale alcoholic beverage license filed by the Huron Chamber for the July Chamber Mixer at the Center For Independence location on Lincoln Avenue. Commissioners will also get an update on Splash Central including a look at the sales number so far for the water park. The Commission will also consider rules, waiver and release forms and a physical fitness policy for the police department. All of those items relate to a wellness room for city employees at the Campus Center. Renewal of website services with Robert Sharp and Associates will be considered along with a recommendation to hire a volunteer fire fighter and employees for Splash Central. The is no scheduled executive session tonight however an work session is planned to discuss alley tree trimming and a rent reduction request for the Fine Arts Center at the Huron Community Campus. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM at the Huron Municipal Building and the meeting is open to the public.
