The Huron City Commission is back at it tonight after taking last week off in honor of Memorial Day. Commissioners will consider a payment request for a sewer main lining project and a change order for a street milling, overlay and paving job. Two public hearings will be held. One is on the transfer of a retail on-off sale malt beverage, South Dakota farm wine license between the owners of a restaurant on Dakota Avenue. The Commission will also consider approval of a resolution regarding the intent to lease real estate to the Greater Huron Development Corporation. Commissioners authorize Mayor Paul Aylward to sign a renewal application with the state Department of Environment and Natural Resources to construct and operate a construction and demolitions debris disposal facility. The Commission will consider an amendment to the State of South Dakota Historical Preservation Allocation Award. An update on the rental code registration will be given. Commissioners will consider the annual lease agreement with Rick Button for the 2013 golfing season and a contract with Advance Recycling Systems. Commissioners will consider appointments to the Community Garden Committee, Park and Recreation Board and Planning Commission. The Huron City Commission will consider a rate increase for freon removal, a residency waiver and a hiring recommendation before meeting in executive session for litigation and holding a work session regarding negotiations with the AFSCME union. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM at the Huron Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public.
