The Huron City Commission will spend most of this Valentine’s evening working through two pages worth of agenda items. Commissioners will set a bid date for annual materials like water-sewer supplies, marking paint and irrigation supplies. Semi-Annual updates from the South Dakota State Fair and Huron Chamber and Visitors Bureau will be held. The Commission will authorized Mayor Dave McGirr to sign two letters and will consider an agreement with the Northeast Council of Governments for administrative assistance with the Community Development Block Grant recently approved for a water tower near Dakota Provisions. Two plats are up for consideration tonight as well. Commissioners will consider a proposal from Midco Diving and Marine Services for water tower maintenance. The second and final reading of two ordinances are tonight. The Commission has four departmental items for consideration and will head into executive session for union negotiations. A work session will be held following executive session for a review of fund balances and interim budget. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM and the meeting is open to the public.
