The Huron City Commission is set to hold it’s final meeting before the Tuesday City/School Board election. Commissioners will consider the sixteenth payment for Splash Central and the second reading of an ordinance regulating businesses who want outdoor sidewalk patios. A resolution setting fees for the sidewalk businesses will also be heard. The Commission will also hear a report from the Central Park Marketing Committee. Eleven human resource items are on the agenda, including approval of part-time seasonal positions in the Park and Recreation Department and Splash Central, golf pro shop and summer reading program at the library. Full time status for a police officer will be considered as will human resource items in the Solid Waste Department, the hiring of a part-time Airport Police Officer and accepting the retirement of Assistant City Engineer Lyle Zell after nearly 50 years with the city. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM at the Huron Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public.
