A full agenda greets the Huron City Commission tonight, staring with two variance requests to be considered by the Board of Adjustments. The first is a request to allow the tattooing of permanent makeup and eyelash extensions filed by Star Nails and Spa. The second variance is for the construction of a fence. When the City Commission reconvenes, Commissioners will consider awarding the Landfill Use Agreement bid and a and bid for a motor grader from Spink County Bid. Two public hearings will be held regarding the Campus Center. One is a lease agreement with Celebrate Community Church, the second for a special event alcohol license. The Commission will also consider the annual trailer court license renewal of Huron Mobile Estates. Commissioners will get an update on the South Dakota State University Architecture Class Project. After weeks for wrangling, the Commission will consider a hiring recommendation for a Police Captain and a hiring recommendation for the Solid Waste Department. Commissioners will also consider approval of a job description for Central Park Manager and advertise for the position. The Commission will consider regular status for two volunteer firefighters and will make announcements regarding the Veterans Day holiday. The Huron City Commission will meet in executive session for a contractual matter and negotiations. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM at the Huron Municipal Building.
