The Huron City Commission holds it’s weekly meeting tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. Commissioners will consider a payment request for work on the east water tower behind Dakota Provisions. The request was deferred for consideration until tonight from last week. Commissioners will also consider assessing delinquent special assessments on property in the city and a franchise agreement with Midcontinent Communications. The Commission will also consider a plat request filed for the join jurisdictional area. Also on the agenda is a request to allow Police Chief Gary Will, Jr. to apply for a grant from the Attorney General’s Office to provide dispatch training on fire dispatching. Commissioners will consider approving full time status for a police officer and a contract for telephone answering service with the Clark Police Department. The Commission will consider a recommendation to update job descriptions in the police department and accepting a treadmill as a gift from the Nordby Center. The Commissioners will wrap up the main portion of the meeting with reminders as the Native American Day holiday approaches. before meeting in executive session for negotiations. The Huron City Commission meets at 5:30 PM and the meeting is open to the public.
