The Huron City Commission will meet as the Board of Adjustments to begin tonight’s City Commission meeting. Both variances to be considered by the Board of Adjustments relate to requests to build fences. When the City Commission reconvenes, Commissioners will consider a payment request for the Splash Central project and hold three public hearings for special event alcohol licenses requested for Chamber Mixers for the next three months. The Commission will also consider a joint powers maintenance and encroachment agreement with the South Dakota Department of Transportation for work between 15th Street Northwest and 27th Street Northwest, near James Valley Christian School. Commissioners will also consider an agreement with the state D-O-T regarding a project to shift runways and taxiways at the Huron Regional Airport. The Green Energy Task Force will present a proposal for a recycling program and Commissioners will hold first reading of the annual appropiations ordinance for 2013. The Commission will consider three requests from the Huron Police Department and two human resource items. Commissioners will also consider an agreement with the Northern Beef Packers plant in Aberdeen and consider an appointment to the Community Improvement Committee. The Huron City Commission will also meet in executive session for negotiations. The City Commission will meet at 5:30 PM tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public
