The Huron City Commission begins Fair Week with its regular weekly meeting tonight. Commissioners will hear semi-annual updates from the Beadle County Humane Society and Huron Chamber and Visitor’s Bureau. The Commission will consider a request by the Beadle County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League for use of the old trap range for a youth duck hunt on September 22nd. Commissioners will consider a resolution of Necessity for curb, gutter and pavement improvements on 22nd street in the Estabrook Subdivision. The Commission will also consider an agreement with Kasseburg Canine Training Center to purchase the City’s drug detecting dog. Commissioners will accept equipment transfers from Beadle County and will consider three hiring recommendations and a wage increase. The Commission will also go over some reminders for the Labor Day holiday. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM at the Huron Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public.
