The Huron City Commission will meet tonight as the Board of Adjustments to hear two variance requests. Both are for building projects, one is a garage the other is for a home. When the City Commission reconvenes Commissioners will consider an intergovernmental agreement with the South Dakota State Fair regarding permits for operating golf carts on property owned by the State Fair. The question of golf carts and the State Fair came up when Huron changed it’s ordinances regarding golf carts on city streets. The ordinances were changed to mirror state laws passed on the same issue. Commissioners will also consider a request by the Beadle County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League for use of the old trap range for Hunt Safe classes in August and September. The Commission will consider two human resource items and get an update on the Huron Get Fit program before going into executive session for negotiations. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM and the meeting is open to the public.
