The Huron City Commission meets tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. Commissioners will consider accepting bids for recycling scrap iron and the yearly supply of water, sewer and irrigation materials. Commissioners will also give consideration to two preliminary plats and will consider two intergovernmental agreements with Beadle County. One is for use of the Campus Center and the second is for an assistant City Attorney. The Commission will also consider a contract for Internet and phone service for the Campus Center. The Commission will consider a resolution of necessity for curb, gutter, pavement and water and sewer services on McDonald Drive along with two ordinances for rezoning petitions and an ordinance to revise street names. Commissioners will also consider part-time hires for Broadland Creek and Memorial golf courses, a grant for the Huron Board of Historic Preservation, the Safe Routes for Schools grant and contract amendments with the Fraternal Order of Police. The Huron City Commission will meet in executive session for two items before holding a work session to review police department policies.
