The Huron City Commission will meet tonight as the Board of Adjustments for public hearings on variance requests for health care related projects. Horizon Health Care is requesting a variance to operate a medical clinic in an area not permitted by code for it’s temporary clinic on Third Street and for having only six of the required eight parking spaces in the Central Business District. The second variance is a request by the Huron Mall to allow a medical clinic in an area not permitted in a General Business District. The third and final variance is Koch Hazard Architects on behalf of Huron Regional Medical Center to build a medical clinic with a 15 foot front yard set back instead of the required 20 and for changes to the required amount of parking on the site across the street south of the hospital. When the City Commission reconvenes Commissioners will consider a plat and and whether to renew an agreement with Fleetmatics. Commissioners will get a presentation on the 2011Audited Financials and consider a joint project with the State Department of Transportation regarding Highway 14 and Lincoln Avenue. The Commission will consider an E-911 dispatch agreement with Clark County, authorize the mayor to sign a state financial assistance agreement with the State DOT for snow removal equipment at the Huron Regional Airport and consider hiring a part time skating instructor. The Commission will meet in executive session for two items and hold a work session on the Business Improvement District. The Huron City Commission meets at 5:30 PM and the meeting is open to the public
