The Huron City Commission will meet as the Board of Adjustments tonight to hear another round of variance requests. The Board of Adjustments will hear variance requests for a shed addition, Lincoln Auto wants to build a fence, higher than allowed by code for expansion of it’s business and Barti Metal to expand its scrap metal business in an area not allowed by code. Barti Metal also has a conditional use permit request for fence that is taller than allowed for by code. When the City Commission reconvenes Commissioners will consider a request by Lincoln Auto to move a gate, depending on the outcome of their variance request. Commissioners will hear semi annual updates from the Beadle County Humane Society and Huron Chamber and Visitor’s Bureau. Also up for consideration is a warrenty deed from the Greater Huron Development Corporation for a lot in the second industrial park and an agreement with Wheeler’s Business Products for marketing corrugated cardboard. The Commission will hear second reading on the 2012 City Budget ordinance and get an update on the Central Park project. The City Commission will hold a work session to review the 2011 City Budget and the contract with the Huron Ambulance Association. The Huron City Commission meets at 5:30 PM and the meeting is open to the public.
