The Huron City Commission meets tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. The Commission will meet as the Board of Adjustment to hear a variance request to filed by Northwestern Energy to plat a parcel of land for a natural gas regulator station. Northwestern will also need a conditional use permit for the project for public utility structures in an area zoned I-2, General Industrial and located in the Joint Jurisdictional Area. A plat request for the project will be heard later in the meeting. When the City Commission reconvenes, they will hear plat requests filed by Dakota Turkey Growers, the Greater Huron Development Corporation and Scott and Phyllis Rink. The Commission will also consider a request by David and Joyce Yost to build a six foot fence in an area with a restrictive covenant. The Huron City Commission will hear no ordinance or resolutions and has no departmental items to consider. They will meet in executive session for negotiations and to deal with pending litigation. A work session will be held to work on the 2012 City budget and consider an intergovernmental agreement with Beadle County regarding the services of Building Inspector Roger Bell. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM and the meeting is open to the public.
