The Huron City Commission meets tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. Commissioners will consider awarding bids for an asphalt zipper and baler belt. A public hearing will be held for the Huron Chamber and Visitor’s Bureau request for a special event alcohol license for their next Chamber Mixer at the World’s Largest Pheasant. Commissioners will get first reading of and hold a public hearing on the establishment of a business improvement district. The Commission will also consider a resolution authorizing the mayor to sign a solid waste management grant. Commissioners will also consider Police Chief Gary Will’s request for new piece of recording equipment for the dispatch center and declaring the existing system as surplus. The Commission will also consider surplussing a 5 row bleacher and bases and establishing an appraisal committee for those items. Two human resource items are up for consideration. Commissioners will consider a traffic safety grant and authorize Mayor Dave McGirr to sign that grant. The Huron City Commission meets at 5:30 PM and the meeting is open to the public.
