The Huron City Commission is meeting tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. The Commission will meet as the Board of Adjustment to consider two variance requests. B-and -B Auto Repair owner Wyatt Brotherton is requesting to allow a residence in his business, which is not allowed by current zoning regulations where his business is at. The second variance, if approved, would allow Double-A Motorsports to construct an addition closer to a property line than allowed by code. Commissioners will consider approving a payment request by Todd Brueske Construction for work to reinforce the shoreline of the island in Ravine Lake. They will also consider setting a bid opening date for the 2016 Water Main Replacement project. The Commission will hold public hearings for requests by Celebrate Community Church to lease three rooms at the Campus Center building. Also up for consideration by the Huron City Commission is a special event alcohol license filed by the Huron Chamber for a Chamber Mixer on January 12th and a lease of lots in the West Industrial Park to the Greater Huron Development Corporation. Commissioners will close out the agenda with announcements regarding the Christmas and New Year’s Solid Waste Collection Schedules and a special year end meeting on December 31st at Noon. The Huron City Commission meets at 5:30 PM. The meeting is open to the public.
