The Huron City Commission will start tonight’s weekly meeting of the group, tackling four variances, meeting as the Board of Adjustments. One variance is in regards to a fence, one, a construction project, a third is for a plat and the four is a request from the Park and Recreation Department to add a billboard for Splash Central along Highway 14 across from Memorial Park. When the Board of Adjustments reconvenes as the City Commission, Commissioners will consider a payment request for a street milling project and fence repair at the community garden. The Commission will consider four requests for special event alcohol licenses for events at the State Fairgrounds and two plats. The first reading of an ordinance regarding the appointment of members to the Park and Recreation board will be held. An update on the Southtown addition is on the agenda, along with reminders from the City regarding services for the Memorial Day holiday. There are no scheduled work or executive sessions. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM at the Huron Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public.
