The Huron City Commission is meeting tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. Commissioners will begin tonight’s meeting by considering a variance filed by Wade and Brenda Wicks as the Board of Adjustments. The Wicks are asking for a variance to construct a detached garage that is over code limits for the percentage of structures allowed on a lot. When the City Commission reconvenes, Commissioners will consider a payment request for concrete replacement and will hold two public hearings on special event alcohol licenses. They will also consider approval of a third such license. Commissioners will also chime in on a proposal to clean up mercury from the old waste water plant and a perpetual easement with Taco Johns to deal with a city water main in the area. The last order of business for the Huron City Commission, is the annual reorganization of the governing board. The reorganization of the City Commission is listed under work session. There are no scheduled executive sessions. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM in the City Commission chambers. The meeting open to the public.
