City Commission Meets Tonight

Variances and zoning issues related to the Central Park Redevelopment Proposal will be heard in a semi-joint meeting with the Huron City Commission. A Hearing Examiner will hear four variances and a conditional use permit request for the property that currently houses buildings that make up the former Huron University Campus, while excluding the Campus Center and Gym buildings. Following the Hearing Examiner meeting the City Commission will command the dais for their regular meeting. Commissioners will consider a change order for a sewer main lining project and will hear three plats. The Commission will hold first reading of ordinance regarding a re-zoning petition filed by Huron Regional Medical Center and will consider a resolution for a revision to the State Transportation Improvement Plan. Commissioners will consider a resignation from the Lake and Riverfront Development Committee and appointing a replacement member. Part-time seasonal hiring recommendations for the Park and Rec Department are also on the agenda. An executive session is scheduled for a personnel matter. Both meetings begin tonight at 5:30 PM at the Huron Municipal Building and both are open to the public.
