City Commission Meets Monday Night

The Huron City Commission approved two change orders last night. One was a final payment on an asphalt overlay project. Part of the project included paving Waibel Avenue from Jersey Avenue, over the dike. That part could not be completed this year due to flooding and will be targeted for completion next year. The second change order was for final payment on LED light packs. Commissioners also approved the transfer of a liquor license. The Commission also approved two agreements with the state of South Dakota. One agreement eliminates a highway entrance near the Huron Country Club. The entrance in the curb will become a regular curb when the State Department of Transportation rebuilds Highway 37 near the airport and James Valley Christian school. The Commission ended its regular meeting in 15 minutes, then recessed before holding an executive session for union negotiations.
