The Huron City Commission approved three payment requests at it’s meeting Monday night. Commissioners also said yes to a special event on-sale alcohol license for the Huron Chamber and Visitor’s Bureau’s next Chamber Mixer. Two plats were approved and the city entered a service agreement with Dakota Energy Cooperative to provide electricity to the the east water tower behind Dakota Provisions. Power is needed for a beacon light on top of the tank, a radio transmitter and heaters to prevent values from freezing. A petition for street vacation filed by Ellwein Brothers Distributors was approved so the company can expand it’s warehouse to the south. The Commission also approved hiring a part time library clerk and appointments to the Planning Commission and Hearing Examiner. The City Commission also met in executive session for union negotiations.
