The Huron City Commission goes back to work tonight after having last Monday off in honor of Labor Day. Commissioners will consider awarding a bid for construction of a new concessions building at the Kunhart Softball complex. They will also consider a payment request for sewer main lining and change order for a water main replacement project. The Commission will also consider a request by Carroll and Arlene Tschetter for a petition to remove a portion of their neighbors driveway approach the Tschetter’s claim is on their property. Commissioners will also consider renewal of the E-911 contract with Kingsbury County. First reading of the 2015 budget ordinance is scheduled for tonight along with first reading of an ordinance regarding campaign and election signs. The Commission will consider authorizing the Mayor to sign a Recreational Trails Program Project Agreement with the State of South Dakota for the Huron Memorial Park Trail Replacement Project, consider a recommendation from the appraisal committee regarding the value of the old municipal pool merry-go-round and consider three human resource items. Commissioners will continue budget work in a work session and meet in executive session for a contractual matter. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM at the Huron Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public.
