City Commission Meeting Twice This Week

 

City CommissionThe Huron City Commission will hold two meetings this week although one is a tour, of the Dakota Central Postal sorting and processing faculty. Monday night, Commissioners will hear semi-annual updates from the Huron Events Center and Huron Senior Center. They will also consider an intergovernmental agreement with Beadle County for E-911 service and request by the South Dakota State Fair for assistance with law enforcement during the three-day WISSOTA 100 race event. A public hearing will be held for a proposed resolution of necessity regarding curb, gutter and pavement improvements on a portion of Minnesota Avenue Southwest. Second reading of an ordinance regarding 911 service will be held along with the first reading of an ordinance regarding through streets and truck routes. The Commission will consider accepting a grant from the United Way for the reduced tuition program at the Huron Community Campus. Also on the agenda is considering to accept the retirement of an engineering technician and items related to finding a replacement including updating a job description for the position. The Huron City Commission has no scheduled work sessions but will meet in executive session for a personnel matter. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM at the Huron Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public. Because all Huron City Commissioners are likely to tour Dakota Central Tuesday night, the tour must be considered a meeting including the posting of an agenda 24 hours prior to the meeting taking place. The tour of Dakota Central is scheduled for 7:30 PM tomorrow.
