The Huron City Commission is meeting tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. Commissioners will consider a payment request for a back-up generator and a contract for propane sales. A public hearing will be held for a special event alcohol license filed by the Huron Chamber for their next Chamber Mixer. Commissioners will consider a request by the State Fair for excess compost and assistance hauling it. The group will also consider an agreement with KONE Incorporated for the elevator at City Hall. Approval of the agreements would also authorize the mayor to sign the documents. The Commission will also consider allowing Police Chief Denny Meyer to apply for grant funding from Wal-Mart for the “Shop with a Cop” event. Announcements regarding the Native American Day holiday on Monday October 12th will be made as well. Those announcements include changes to the Solid Waste Department schedule for garbage, grass and recycling collection and hours of operation at the City Rubble Site.
