The Huron City Commission meets tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. Commissioners will consider a change order and two payment requests for various infrastructure projects. A public hearing will be held on the transfer of a package off sale malt beverage license for Aung Asian Market’s move to a new location on Dakota Avenue. The Commission will also consider an agreement with the State of South Dakota for assistance with a playground project in Crown Park. Commissioners will also consider a funding request from People’s Transit. The first reading of a proposed ordinance change is tonight. The changes are in regards to the zoning ordinance on fencing. The topic was discussed last Monday for over an hour during a work session. The Commission will also consider three requests from the desk of Police Chief Dennis Meyer. They include requests authorizing Meyer to apply for state and federal grants for a generator for the dispatch center and for highway safety grants to allow for overtime enforcement pay. There are no scheduled executive sessions, however Commissioners will hold a work session to review room rentals at the Campus Center. The Huron City Commission meets at 5:30 PM, tonight.
