City Commission Approves Grant Application For Cane Ball Court

City Planner Ralph Borkowski told the Huron City Commission a group of Karen students, with the help of para-professional Wendy Voss, approached him about trying to get a cane ball court built in Huron….

The grant would cover the 395-dollars needed to purchase two nets, poles to hang the nets and rope to mark the 20-foot by 40-foot court boundaries. All the group is asking from the city is a location to set the courts and maintenance of the area, namely the mowing of grass and a safe place to keep the net and ball to be checked out to prevent damage or vandalism. Before Aylward’s squad or any team can hit the cane ball court, the grant must gain approval and the idea must go approved by the Huron Park and Recreation Board.
