The Huron City Commission meets for it’s regular weekly meeting tonight. The Commission will meet as the Board of Adjustments to hear a variance request. The variance, filed by Don and Sharleen Smith regards the construction of a fence. When the City Commission reconvenes, commissioners will consider two payment requests and the amendment of a professional services contract. The payment requests are for the east and north water towers and the contract amendment regards the relocation costs for the east tower. The Commission will hold a public hearing on a special event on-sale alcoholic beverage license filed by the Huron Chamber for the Chamber’s next Mixer event to be held at Sunbird Incorporated on August 13th. A second public hearing will be held regarding a resolution on the notice of Adoption of Special Assement Roll for curb, gutter, pavement, water and sewer service improvements on McDonald Drive. The Commission will also consider accepting two resignations from part time year round library clerks and consider advertising to fill those positions. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM at the Huron Municipal Meeting. The meeting is open to the public.
