Last night the Huron City Commission approved submitting an application for the State Water Plan.
Placement on the plan is the first step in requesting funding for sewer improvements. The city is requesting $5.7 million dollars for phase one of the project.
City commissioner Bryan Smith encourages the public to take advantage of opportunities to learn more about the project.
Once a project is placed on the State Water Plan, it remains there for two years allowing communities time to apply for loan and grant funding.
