CHASE RECAPS SUMMER STUDY COMMITTEE PRESENTATION TO EXECUTIVE BOARD

The Executive Board of the State of South Dakota met earlier in November.  They heard presentations from committees include the legislative Summer Study committees.  One of those dealt with county funding and expenses and was chaired by district 22 representative Roger Chase.  He spoke about the presentation and what their take was on the issue.

A state legislator resigned her seat earlier this year due to a conflict of interest case.  Earlier this month Governor Noem asked the court for an advisory ruling on what constitutes a conflict of interest.  Chase said with South Dakota’s citizen representation system it is difficult to find a situation where senators and representatives do not have a connection to state government.

Chase will serve in his final legislative session that begins January 9th.
